The Johnstech team will share an alternative approach to evaluating different socket configurations based on a device-specific pinout, without having to create 3D electromagnetic simulations for every pin configuration.  This approach uses generic multi-port S-parameter files generated by HFSS or other tools, and incorporates them into common circuit simulation software that allows the socket engineer to check RF performance of spring probe arrays.  Single-ended and differential signals can be analyzed to mimic the application ball-map, according to the positions of the signal pins and grounds.  Insertion loss, return loss, and crosstalk can be analyzed quickly for comparison – useful for both analog and digital signal analysis.

本次研討會將分享一種不同於傳統 3D 電磁模擬的分析方法，協助工程師針對不同 Device Pinout 與 Socket 配置，快速評估其 RF 效能，而無需針對每一種 Pin Configuration 分別建立 3D 電磁模擬模型。
此方法利用 HFSS 或其他電磁模擬工具所產生的通用多埠 S-Parameter 檔案，並將其導入常見的電路模擬軟體中，使 Socket 工程師能夠快速分析 Spring Probe Array 的 RF Performance。
依據實際應用中的 Signal Pin 與 Ground Pin 位置配置，可以模擬實際 Device Application 的 Ball Map，來分析 Single-Ended 及 Differential Signal的特性表現。
